Feminist Alliance Trust is a newly launched feminist nonprofit organization working on women empowerment and gender justice. Our focus areas are (1) Gender Based Violence, (2) Gender, Public Space and Spatial Justice for Women; (3) Gender Mainstreaming of Governance and Institutional Reforms and (4) Access to Justice. We are looking for feminist volunteers, researchers, activists, administrator and other professionals to join the organization in a volunteer capacity. We believe feminism is for all, and highly welcome men who believe in feminism to join us.

Job Title: Volunteer / Intern – Law and Governance
Nature of Engagement: Voluntary, research based role (Unpaid)
Feminist Alliance Trust (FEMAT) is looking for final year law students, fresh law graduates and interested legal practitioners to support our Law and Governance program. Under this program, FEMAT provides free legal counselling to women and vulnerable groups, pro-bono lawyers for appropriate litigation, and promotes gender-mainstreaming of governance and institutional reforms via RTI, PIL and other legal mechanisms. The ideal candidate is someone with demonstrated interests in social justice issues particularly women’s rights.

Job Title: Trustee
Nature of Engagement: Voluntary managerial and philanthropic role (Unpaid)
Role Overview:
Feminist Alliance Trust (FEMAT) is inviting applications for the position of Trustee to constitute the first Governing Board. The Trustees will play a crucial role in guiding the organisation during its formative years and strengthen it towards sustainable funding and impactful projects. As one of the earliest Trustees, you will bring new ideas to the table, take initiative in developing projects and mobilising funds, and support the organisation in building credibility among peers and stakeholders. Above all, you will be expected to make this organisation your own, and help shape where we go from here. The organisation envisions work in the areas of feminist knowledge-building, capacity-building, and legal and political interventions, and feminist logistics and infrastructure. However, the Governing Board will have the autonomy to introduce new feminist ideas and initiatives.

Location:
All positions are hybrid in nature. Feminist Alliance Trust is registered in New Delhi, India; however, the organisation does not have a physical office yet. Work is currently conducted remotely with video conferencing as required.
Remuneration:
All positions are voluntary and offered on a pro-bono basis. At present, the Trust does not have a seed fund or institutional corpus to provide salary or remuneration. The intent of this engagement is to collectively build the organisation towards securing legitimate funding and implementing impactful projects over time.

Exit Protocol:
The volunteer may leave or be relieved from the position with at least one week’s notice. In the event of discontinuation of engagement, the volunteer shall ensure immediate handover of all organisational documents, data, communication records, and access credentials (including email and digital platforms) in their possession.
